हमारे अन्दर असंख्य गुप्त शक्तियाँ सोई पड़ी हैं 

स्वयं के बारे में जानना ही एक मात्र उपाय है जिससे आप अपनी सोच बदल सकते हैं। आपकी सोच को बदलना आपके व्यवहार को बदल देता है। और आपके व्यवहार में बदलाव आपके साथ होने वाली चीजों को बदल देता है।
दूसरों की बुराइयाँ सभी देखते हैं परन्तु अपनी ओर देखने का अभ्यास बहुत कम लोगों को होता है। सुप्रसिद्ध विचारक इमर्सन का कथन है- ‘बहुत कम लोग मृत्यु से पूर्व अपने आपको पहिचान पाते हैं’ बहुत कम व्यक्ति अपने जीवन में सभी शक्तियों को प्रकट करते हैं; बाकी तो उन्हें साथ लिए ही मर जाते हैं। हममें से अनेकों तो ईश्वर के सन्देश को संसार में दिये बिना ही यहाँ से चले जाते हैं’।
वस्तुतः तथ्य तो यह है कि हमारे अन्दर असंख्य गुप्त शक्तियाँ सोई पड़ी हैं परन्तु हमें उन योग्यताओं तथा क्षमताओं का पता ही नहीं और न ही उन्हें जानने का प्रयास करते हैं। यह ठीक है कि बाहर की अनेकों वस्तुएं जानकर हम ज्ञानवान् कहलाएँ, परन्तु यह भी कम आवश्यक नहीं कि हम अपने आपको पहचानना भी सीखें।
जो अपनी और देखने का अभ्यास डालता है, वही महान् बनता है। ऐसा व्यक्ति कठिनाइयों तथा बाधाओं पर विजय पाकर सतत् उन्नति करता रहता है।
महापुरुषों का जीवन इस बात का साक्षी है कि वे सतत् आत्म-निरीक्षण करते रहें तथा अपनी भूलों से सदैव शिक्षाएँ ग्रहण करते रहें। यदि आप भी महान् बनना चाहते हैं तो दूसरों को तुच्छ समझने की, उनमें छिद्रान्वेषण करने की दृष्टि का परित्याग कर दीजिए। दूसरों को तुच्छ समझने वाला मनुष्यत्व खो देता है। अन्यों की गलतियाँ खोजने की अपेक्षा अपनी त्रुटियाँ खोजिए और उन्हें दूर कीजिए। अपनी शक्तियों को पहचानिए और उनका सदुपयोग कीजिए।
ईश्वर ने अनेकों दिव्य शक्तियाँ देकर आपको संसार में भेजा है, उनका सदुपयोग कीजिए। पेट और प्रजनन जैसे क्षुद्र कार्यों में उन्हें व्यर्थ न होने दीजिए।
आप जो भी कार्य कर रहे हैं उनसे हजारों गुना अधिक कार्य करने की सामर्थ्य आपके अन्दर है। आवश्यकता केवल इस बात की है कि अपना महत्व समझे, शक्तियों को पहिचाने तथा समय का सदुपयोग करें। जीवन का एक-एक क्षण बहुमूल्य है, उसे व्यर्थ न जाने दें।
जो कार्य करने की इच्छा रखते हैं, उसे आज से ही प्रारम्भ कर दीजिए। अपनी समस्त शक्तियाँ उसमें एकाकार। वह क्षण आपके जीवन का अत्यन्त महत्वपूर्ण क्षण होगा जब आपको यह अनुभव होगा कि संसार को आपकी आवश्यकता है।
आपके अन्दर एक और व्यक्तित्व समाहित है जो आपके बाहरी व्यक्तित्व से कहीं अधिक महान है। जिस क्षण व्यक्ति अपनी महानता की झलक पा लेता है; वह मानव से महामानवत्व की ओर अग्रसर हो जाता है।
हो सकता है कि किन्हीं कठिनाइयों या बाधाओं के कारण आपका व्यक्तित्व पूरी तरह से विकसित न हो सकता हो। परन्तु आपत्तियाँ आने पर घबराएं मत। जिस प्रकार से अग्नि में तप कर सोना निखर जाता है, और भी अधिक चमकने लगता है, उसी प्रकार बाधाएँ और कठिनाईयाँ मनुष्य को खरा कुन्दन बना देती है।
कई पादप ऐसे होते हैं, जब तक उन्हें मसला न जाए सुगन्धि नहीं देते। उसी प्रकार कुछ व्यक्ति भी ऐसे होते हैं, जब तक वे विपत्तियों से आक्रान्त न किये जायें, उनकी योग्यताओं की सुगन्धि फैल ही नहीं पाती।
अतएव आत्म-निरीक्षण के द्वारा अपनी योग्यताओं को पहचानिये। किसी भी प्रतिभा का अंकुर आपको अपने अन्दर दिखलाई पड़े उसको पुष्पित पल्लवित होने का अवसर दीजिये। कौन जाने एक दिन आप संसार के महान कलाकार बन जायें, विश्वप्रसिद्ध लेखक बन जायें, दार्शनिक या राजनीतिज्ञ बन जायें। चलिये और सतत् बढ़ते रहिए।
जो स्वयं को जान लेता है, वही साक्षात् परमेश्वर को जान सकता है। वही व्यक्ति ईश्वरीय प्रयोजनों को पूरा कर सकता है तथा उसके संदेशों को जनसाधारण तक पहुँचा सकता है

Knowing yourself is the only way you can change your mindset.  Changing your thinking changes your behavior.  And a change in your behavior changes the things that happen to you.
Everyone sees the evils of others, but very few people practice looking at themselves.  The famous thinker Emerson has said - 'Very few people identify themselves before death' Very few people manifest all the powers in their lives;  The rest die with them.  Many of us leave from here without giving the message of God to the world.
Actually, the fact is that innumerable secret powers have fallen asleep in us, but we do not know or try to know those abilities and abilities.  It is right that we are called knowledgeable by knowing many things outside, but it is not less important that we also learn to recognize ourselves.
He who puts his practice of seeing more, he becomes great.  Such a person progresses continuously by conquering difficulties and obstacles.
The life of great men is a witness to the fact that they are constantly self-observing and always receive teachings from their mistakes.  If you also want to become great, then abandon the vision of despising others, exploiting them.  The person who despises others loses manhood.  Find your errors and correct them instead of finding the mistakes of others.  Identify your strengths and use them properly.
God has given you many divine powers and sent you into the world, make good use of them.  Do not let them go to waste in petty tasks like stomach and reproduction.
You have the ability to do thousands of times more work than whatever you are doing.  The only need is to understand its importance, recognize the powers and make good use of time.  Every moment of life is precious, do not let it go in vain.
Start doing what you want to do today.  All his powers are unified in him.  That moment will be the most important moment in your life when you will feel that the world needs you.
You have another personality which is more noble than your outer personality.  The moment a person gets a glimpse of his greatness;  He moves from human to superhumanity.
It is possible that your personality may not be fully developed due to any difficulties or obstacles.  But do not panic when objections come.  Just as gold is sparked by heating in the fire, and it starts shining even more, in the same way obstacles and difficulties make a man pure gold.
Many plants are such that they do not give fragrance until they are smeared.  In the same way, some people are like that, until they are beset by plagues, the fragrance of their abilities cannot spread.
Therefore, identify your abilities through self-inspection.  Give the sprout of any talent you see in you, give it an opportunity to flourish.  Who knows, one day you will become a great artist of the world, a world-renowned writer, a philosopher or a politician.  Let's go on and on.
He who knows himself can know God only.  The same person can fulfill divine purposes and make his messages reach the masses.
